Standing 88 feet tall, the Caldey Island Lighthouse is a striking white tower situated on Caldey Island off the coast of Tenby, Wales. Built in 1828, the lighthouse features a distinctive black band and lantern room, guiding mariners through the treacherous waters of Carmarthen Bay.
Beautiful walk to the lighthouse from boat drop off point. Some stunning views over the sea.
Good day out. Nice to see the island, the architecture, and the history of the monks. We brought tickets just by the entrance to the beach. About 200m walk from the booth to the ship over to the island. Short walk from the landing area to the main Abbey, shop, food vendor, and post office. We sent a couple of postcards to family from the post office. Everywhere on the island took card and cash. Fairly short walk to the other churches, old priory and the lighthouse. Roughly 3 to 4 hours spent on the island.
Views are spectacular from this spot. The lighthouse has been kept in good condition and good to view. However you cannot go inside. Also thought that it would be bigger than it was. Only a small one.
