Cam Peak is a hill in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, England, with an elevation of 519 metres (1,703 ft). It is situated near the village of Cam and Hathersage and offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The peak is a popular spot for hiking and walking, with several trails leading to the summit, including the popular Limestone Way trail. On a clear day, the views from the top stretch as far as the Welsh Mountains and the Lancashire Hills.
The photos don't do it justice! It was really pretty and the view from the top was amazing. There is free parking on site, but there aren't many spaces. It was quiet when we went so this wasn't a problem. We walked up the steep front of Cam Hill. It was very steep so would suggest going round the side for a gentler climb if you don't want to do this. Lovely place for a picnic.
We were fortunate to visit whilst the peak was covered in Bluebells. Small car park (free) so be prepared to park on the road. The front approach is quite steep, alternatively bear left and climb from there. The view is spectacular!
Beautiful natural landscape. You can see for miles from the top. Carpark with easy access for those not wanting to walk far. Or loads of routes for those wanting to make a day of it. Watch out for the golfers on the course!
Love it here, lovely bridleway and a nice place to walk your dog. small car park of maximum 10 spaces.
Incredible views all round. A short and sharp climb up but there were also other trails running around. Small car park and if it's full there didn't seem to be anywhere else particularly close by to park
Visited during late April 2021. Great place to view bluebells in spring. Not a well known tourist spot so lots of fresh and unspoiled bluebells for photographs. Parking in a small car park just below the peak. There are multiple paths up the peak, with an easier one around the peak to the east with gentler slopes.
