Campsie Waterfall is a picturesque waterfall located in the Campsie Fells near Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. The waterfall drops approximately 10-15 meters down a rocky slope, surrounded by lush greenery and moss-covered stones. The water flows from the Campsie Glen Burn, which originates from the nearby Campsie Hills, and continues its journey downstream to the River Carron. The waterfall is a popular spot for hikers and nature enthusiasts, offering a serene and peaceful atmosphere amidst the scenic Scottish countryside.
The path starts from the car park in the sky, and it goes down quite a bit but is well worth it. A disabled person would struggle unfortunately, but depending on their condition, they might get to the first waterfall its really not far but does get steep. For the 2nd, you have to go down further, but there's a rope to help you. This one is amazing it's sort of like a caving in the rock, and you can go under the waterfall for a shower
Bit of a mixed bag this landmark. Two waterfalls to visit here. First and most easily accessed is a bit underwhelming. It's not kept clean and is always busy. It has pools to swim in but it's not well cared for. The second (lower down) waterfall you can access using a makeshift rope to climb down a steep slope. It's not very official or safe but at the end of the somewhat perilous descent is admittedly a beautiful waterfall and it's a lot more raw in its surrounds.
Nice place to visit. Can be pretty busy in the warmer weather. Park and walk down a hill to the falls. Sometimes can be pretty littered as some people obviously don't know how to use bins but other than that a nice place with lovely views.
Nice Waterfalls well worth a look. Turn right when you enter takes you to the top end of the waterfall which can be walked in literally 2/3 minutes. The waterfalls towards the bottom takes around 10 minutes and can be very steep in places, but all worth it very beautiful place I will take the children to next time or in Summer.
While there somebody fell down the cliff had to be airlifted out
Beautiful little waterfall just outside Glasgow city. 5 min walk from the carpark, but trail leading to it is quite steep with no guarding fence. trekking shoes are recommended. Once you reach down at the foot hill, straight ahead is the waterfall and if you take a left, and climb down a huge rock, you can take a dip in a natural swimming pool. Not suitable for pram and no disabled access. Opposite to the car park is a wee mountain which gives you a beautiful view from top.
