A historic industrial site turned vibrant entertainment hub, Canal Wharf boasts a rich heritage and modern attractions. The former canal-side warehouses now house trendy bars, restaurants, and shops, while the surrounding area features a picturesque canal walk, a bustling street food market, and a thriving arts scene.
This is a very pleasant walk easily accessed from town centre with convenient car parks and disabled access and parking. Close to both Tesco and Morrisons mean there are toilets nearby. And along the way there is lots of interesting bits to see I haven't photographed all off them as I feel this would spoil the fun... It's nota five star attraction but if you are visiting Welshpool it's a really pleasant walk from the wharf in Newtown direction and you could pop into Charlie's for the cafe and gift shop! - well that's my recommendation anyway :-)
Very lovely walks along the Montgomery canal start at canal wharf & cross under the road for the prettiest scenery. Nice free musuem on the wharf
Not much more than a wider section of the Montgomeryshire Canal with a few jetties and benches. Good location for feeding ducks
Welshpool a town with many superstores (some may say to many) it was a nice change to be able to walk the peaceful canal path, with it's natural atmosphere and links to the past history
Part of the Montgomery Canal. Easy walking on the flat with some lovely views.
Nicely restored wharf sits promenantly aside the Montgomery canal, just as it should.
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
