A 12th-century castle with medieval walls and towers, featuring a mixture of architectural styles, including medieval, Tudor, and Georgian elements. The castle houses a museum showcasing the history of Cardigan and its people, with exhibits on the town's medieval past, the Civil War, and the 19th-century Quaker heritage. Visitors can explore the castle's grand halls, chambers, and gardens, including the restored Regency-era courtyard and the medieval walls walk. The castle also hosts cultural events and exhibitions throughout the year.
Spent around 40mins mooching around the castle grounds. Informative video and boards about as well as a few interesting sculptures and gardens. Didn't make it into the exhibition or cafe this time. Not a typical castle, but well worth the PS7. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable, and really passionate about the castle, history and restoration.
A must for short or long vacation accommodation is absolutely outstanding, downside parking is limited and very narrow driveway into castle. Staff were brilliante. Restaurant 1167 was very nice clean and staff outstanding..
It's a lovely castle right by the river. Great A/V Display with lots of kid friendly information Displays around the house
A lovely spot to relax in their gardens. The house has been restored very nicely, with informative displays of its history.
