Carreg Cennen Castle is an incredible historical site with a fascinating past. Perched beautifully atop a hill, it offers stunning views of the surrounding grassy pastures, where cows and sheep graze peacefully. The highlight is definitely the dungeon/cave within the castle--bring a torchlight to explore the dark channels. For the adventurous, there's a thrilling tunnel at the end of the cave that, if you crawl through, will lead you outside the castle. Beautiful scenery around a medieval fortress. The good state of preservation lets you experience walking in the footsteps of lords and ladies, climbing the same staircases, and seeing their sleeping quarters. If you're a gamer, like me, seeing inside the castles you built so many times on a computer screen is an opportunity not to be missed. The incorporated cave is also something to behold, but be mindful that there is no light in there, so bring a torch.
This castle is great. The drive to us pretty wild, the roads are tiny. It has a big free carpark. There is plenty to look at considering it's just ruins, there is a cave which we didn't know about, that was worth the visit on its own. The castle has amazing views over South Wales and the Brecon Beacons There are some bits to climb up plenty of info posted around and it's only PS7 to get in. A bit of a walk to it, up a path but pushchairs could make it. It's a bit rougher between the payment hut and the castle which is a steeper grass bank. You pay at the top as you go in, cards accepted. There is a great tea shop which is very reasonably priced and serves really nice cakes, a selection of teas and filter coffee. The seating area is inside a large barn which is filled with pews and tables and a scenic window looking down the valley. There is a gift shop and a from yard but we didn't see the farmyard. The tea room is a really good and tasty way to end the visit.

My favourite castle in the world. Just stunning! Super walks around the outskirts too. Every visit is fantastic and the farm cafe at the entrance is excellent with lovely hosts.
This is a spectacular site, well worth a visit. A bit off the beaten track, but stunning scenery all around. You probably need to be steady on your feet to access the castle. There is a lovely farmhouse cafe near the car park.
