This museum showcases the history and heritage of Carrickfergus, with exhibits on the town's medieval past, its maritime history, and its role in the American Civil War. The museum is housed in a modern building that also serves as a civic centre, and features interactive displays, artifacts, and exhibits that tell the story of the town and its people.
GOOD MUSEUM! If you've rolled into town like me not knowing a thing about Carrickfergus, this museum is a good educator of the town's history. The museum looks like it charges money, but it's free to go inside. Lots of artefacts and displays showing you the history of the town. It's part of a larger civic building with a coffee shop and an art gallery, so it's worth checking out.
Lovely museum but could be better sign posted as it's easily missed.
Amazing free museum. There's lovely play area for kids inside. Cafe and WC are available.
Great museum, really enjoyed the us rangers display
Very good museum showing Carrick history over hundreds of years. Really well presented stories and many artefacts on display. Completely free to visit, and will take up to an hour to go round if you study every case.
We went to see the exhibition of the Islandmagee witch trials. It was well laid out and very informative. The girl on duty was really friendly and helpful
