Always a beautiful kept venue. Plenty to do around the grounds, including camping. Watersports and hire available on boats, bikes and trikes. Dogs to be kept on leads. Bring good walk wear for the winter mo ths as it can be naturally mucky in areas.
Nice to walk around and learn a few details about the history of the place like the flying boats. As for the campsite, well catered for if you have children. The only thing I would say is there aren't enough toilets. In the block I used there were plenty of showers but only two toilets. Nice and clean though. Some wonderful nature and wild life to see. Of course it's great for sailing and water activities.
We came as day visitors (not for the caravan site). The walks were good but we walked up from the shore to look in the museum and use the courtyard cafe and found they were both closed so we were disappointed. The cafe says closed until further notice. Lovely place, but a shame the website and signage isn't kept up-to-date.
