This 18th-century country house boasts stunning Georgian architecture, surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and a picturesque lake. The house features an impressive collection of art and antiques, including works by renowned artists such as Gainsborough and Reynolds. Visitors can explore the opulent state rooms, including the grand ballroom, and discover the fascinating history of the family who once called Castle Ashby home.
Today we wanted to visit the Asby Castle, unfortunately the GPS routing is not exactly ok, because visiting the gardens of the Asby Castle requires a completely different entrance and this one is next to the Asby Tearoom Castle, where there is also a parking lot, but unfortunately this road is also not properly signposted with signs, a very nice lady from the antique shop near Asby Castle managed to explain to us how to get to the entrance to the gardens. I hope it will be useful. The castle cannot be visited, only the gardens and the castle can be seen from a distance.
Lovely place to walk round the gardens, church and forestry. Also to eat and see the animals. Only downside is they only have one person taking orders and your payment which a queue backs up very quickly. If they had someone to take simple drinks orders whilst others were ordering meals it would be easier for everyone waiting. I saw two couples walk out as they didn't want to queue for so long.
Lovely quaint historical location. Gardens are superb, what hard work has been put into the gardening. Truly stunning. The staff team are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Also this place is clearly very well-maintained.. very picturesque. Highly recommended.
The castel is very nice but they need to update gps location
