Castle Woods is a forest area located near the town of Strathpeffer, in the Scottish Highlands. The woods offer scenic walking trails, picnic areas, and stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can explore the forest's many paths, including the popular Castle Woods Trail, which takes walkers through a mix of woodland and heather-covered moorland. The area is also home to a variety of wildlife, including red squirrels, deer, and birds.
We actually visited the park to watch the play Midsummer Night's Dream in the lovely outdoor setting. The play was fabulous, and the park and surrounding area were very nice.
Nice stroll in the wood. Untouched nature, hidden church & Victorian graveyard, "witch" bungalow covered by the nature, lovely little stream and wonderful scenery.
Lovely walks, with the hidden little church & striking castle at the end, it's like going back in time to the days of Welsh Princes
Visited Castle woods for a dog walk and realised how close it was to Castle Dinefwr as I emerged on the road to Newton house. Lots of different routes to walk, beautiful autumn scenery. I have often walked up to the ruins from the national Trust carpark but didn't know that Castle woods were connected. I now plan to walk and discover more of the pathways leading left and right from Castle woods.
It's great lots to explore and you can walk to the hall and the castle you can easy spend 3 hours you don't need to go in the hall but it's good to get you out and about
Lovely walks and a lovely little medieval church
