Visitors and locals alike can enjoy the beautifully restored and maintained gardens including the William Wallace Memorial Rose Garden, Bog Garden and Horticultural Centre grounds. Castlebank Park in Lanark is a former private estate, taken into public ownership by South Lanarkshire Council in the early 1950s.
Great town park with lots of interesting things to see and very good for children. Beautiful Wallace Rose Garden, good play area and lots of space to enjoy. Nice views and also boasts a horticultural centre where plants can be purchased. Very knowledgable staff who can advise on plants. Fairy Dell with seating area. Really good to have the parking area and picnic site. Dinosaur display on at present, some other displays can also be seen in the town centre. Well kept, clean park with something for everyone.
Nice park, was clean and tidy. Only problem was the walk down to the rapids, going back there wasn't any clear signs or footpaths back, so we went on a 45-min detour to get back to the gates. However, got some great aerial footage of the river.
Wonderful park. It has something for everyone. Large enough car park. Paved and stoned paths. Great open spaces for games and picnics. Great place for walking and dogs. Sufficient bins. Beautiful gardens. There seems to be things open during the day but I did not see it.
Lovely park just 10 minutes walk from Lanark Main Street. Bit open areas to run around for kids , wildflower meadow planting on some of the slopes, and beautiful rose garden. Nice garden centre run in conjunction with the park. Very reasonable prices for plants to buy.
We got to the park around 4ish in the afternoon and it was quiet. The park is nice and clean. We went to the play area and the fairy dell but we had to leave because kids needed the toilet but we couldn't find one. Nice to go there for a walk with the children and the dog.
Wonderful garden, park and views. Took kids, they loved the Fairy Garden the most. Lots of wee bits to discover, and the play park was ideal too. There is tables in the garden perfect for a picnic, and the views are spectacular. There is a Tesco near by if u needed to pick up bits too, and a wee village. Plenty if space to kick a ball or fly a kite. And a clydeside walkway too. Ideal for the whole family.
