So beautiful, this enchanting place. You can see for miles in all directions. The stunning natural beauty of this unspoilt place remains with you, for ever. We visited this ancient stone circle in August and the mountains were covered in long creamy grasses and pink and purple heathers. The sun shone through, the blue sky shimmered and rain clouds rushed by over head, playing shadows over the hills. Wordsworth and his wife Dorothy spoke very highly of this place in their poetry and prose. It is just so very Romantic. It's so beautiful --you'll love it! ...also, the Keswick Climbing Wall is the only place nearby and that is a great place for all the family to enjoy. Xx
This historic and beautiful place thought to be 5000 years old, nestled in the heart of Cumbria's breathing taking Lake District . It is offering panoramic vistas. The setting and location is very photogenic anytime. Easy to get to and get around. There are sign boards which tell you why these stones are there. Plenty of free parking available alongside the road. I recommend this place to everyone especially for kids.
Peaceful setting even tho busy with families and children. Plenty of parking within a few hundred metres of the circle and there was an ice cream van parked there also selling soft drinks and ice cream. Easy level walking but on uneven long grassy ground. It was a nice day middle of August - the views are superb 360 degrees all around.
Absolutely beautiful. When it's clear you can see for miles over the hills. The parking is on the side of the road and is only a few metres from the stone circle itself. It's not a difficult walk to the circle at all just a small walk up a hill and it's there. There are also walks around the area. Definitely worth going if you just want to see the stone circle or if you want to do an incredibly pretty walk nearby or around as well.
Magical and mystical. A beautiful place and a fantastic setting these old timers knew where to set up a stone circle. Views to applaud and quite literally a 30 min walk into Keswick. So idyllic and peaceful. Highly recommend a visit
