I cannot even begin to express how much we loved our visit to Cavies and cake. As a Guinea pig lover, this cafe has been on my bucket list for so long and it was every bit as amazing as I thought it would be. The guineas are so well loved and looked after and absolutely love the attention and cuddles, as did we! Diana and Michelle are absolutely lovely and were so accommodating and welcoming; We will undoubtedly be visiting again and would highly recommend you book to visit too!
We had a lovely time at Cavies & Cake. It was a lovely experience. You have your own room where your drink & cake is served first, when that is done the piggy mums bring in the girls for the petting experience. In our group there were 5 people and we all had a piggy each, they are all cute & have they own little personalities.
We had the loveliest experience. Everyone was so welcoming and kind! The cakes and coffees were delicious and of course the guinea pigs were sooo cute! We got to feed and groom them and give lots of cuddles, a very perfect way to spend the day :) Thank you!
What a fantastic experience! We visited Cavies & Cake this morning as we are on holiday in North Norfolk with our toddler. They have created something very special here. We arrived to a wonderfully warm welcome and were shown to our room. There are 5 separate rooms, each of which can seat up to six people. We were in the sensory room upstairs, which was decorated with flowers on the wall, a rainbow with lights and a big stuffed tiger and giraffe. It included some dollies and books for my daughter to play with and a giant beanbag. Plus some colouring sheets and crayons. And of course, a Guinea pig house including three lovely ladies Frieda, Brenda and Posey. We were brought our choice of hot drink and cake (we went for chocolate iced loaf and a millionaire slice) and enjoyed half an hour or so of tea and cake. Then it was time for the main event! Freida, Posey and Brenda were placed on the table with lots of grass and leaves to snack on. We had the chance to stroke, brush and hold them. My toddler was encouraged to sit on the bean bag and hold Posey. The owner was so very kind and knowledgable, answering our questions about Guinea pigs and interacting so gently with our daughter. The place is two years old shortly, but the owners have been undertaking pet therapy with their Guinea pigs for many years, initially focusing on people with dementia. They are dementia and SEN trained. The whole place is clearly built on kindness and exists to help others. For PS6.95 a person it is an absolutely steal. The experience lasted approx 90mins in total. I would absolutely recommend! Thank you for a wonderful morning .
Took my two children there on a Friday morning. It was quite nice. We arrived ten minutes early and were asked to go away, which was a little surprising. I think it might be worth mentioning on the booking confirmation that customers aren't allowed in the building until the start time of their booking, since this is slightly unusual. The room we were in was a little tired, with a couple of old cuddly toys and dolls and some books. We had booked a 'half term craft activity', which turned out to be a colouring sheet and some crayons. We got a slice of cake each and one drink - all perfectly reasonable. The guinea pigs seem well cared for and relaxed around people, which is obviously very important. My little one enjoyed feeding the guinea pigs some grass.
Spent a wonderful, calming and enjoyable morning with the guinea pigs. What a lovely relaxing atmosphere, delicious cake and the children enjoyed stroking, feeding, brushing and holding the animals. Thank you. We will come again soon.
