Lovely woodland walk while looking for fungi and flowers to photograph. Another week or so and the bluebells will be in full bloom.
Found this woods just by searching on Google maps. This is a hidden gem, hardly anyone about. We walked in the Essex County Council 1/3 and we walked for about an hour and I don't think we saw it all, we stayed on the path but if you pack wellies you could explore off path it you wanted to. We parked in a layby so didn't have much of sign do be careful, free parking We will definately be back
A lightly maintained ancient woodland. Plentiful fauna and flora everywhere you look. Much bigger than it first appears. Very quiet apart from overflying light aircraft from a nearby aerodrome. We only saw 2 other people in about an hour's walk.
What a wonderful gem hiding away off the main road, there is only a few parking spots but it's worth the drive. It is almost like a bluebell wood, truly fairytale esq
These woods are my special place. I can walk from my home. My favourite times are when the new buds come out on the trees and when the bluebells are out. Some of the paths get very muddy; youve been warned!
Great large woodland which never fails to deliver something new, every time I go with my kids. Massive selection of fungus & toadstools visible late September / October. Highly recommend walking / visiting through this wood
