Parkland area with a reservoir and a heritage railway, plus bird watching, walking and cycling.
Such a lovely place to visit, we are very lucky to have this on our doorstep and I visit most weeks, big car park, on site facilities, children's play area, crazy golf, 2 ice-cream/coffee shops.. plenty of places to picnic as well. Beautiful!
Clam place to spend with family and for short train drive. There is a children play area, long walk across reservoir is good. Resturant at train station is very ethnic and good. One of food cart near children play area with some basic snacks is available. Weather is very important to visit this place too much of wind and cold will not make great place to spend time. We can see ducks and swans flapping around in water which gives good feel. Enough free tables are available across water body stretch to sit relax have some good food if carried self.
Really pleased with the service offered. Really cleaned and taken care of. Car park is only PS3.50 for all day. Loads of car spaces but probabaly more busier on bank holidays and summer time. The park is dog friendly as there were loads dog walkers. Very pleased with eh customer service from the Cafes. Make sure you are leaving before 8pm when the barier for the car park is closing at that time.
Visited to do the Chasewater parkrun. Lovely big lake with lots of wildlife. There is a nice 5km walk around the reservoir and trails going further afield and on to Cannock Chase. Parking was good value and I paid PS1.20 for 2 hours. There is also a steam railway which starts at about 11am. I didn't get a chance to see anything after the run as the heavens opened. I will come back, with my bike, and explore more over the summer.
A truly fabulous place to visit with a range of facilities. Excellent walks, though some much needed maintenance is needed to some of the tracks and trails. The steam railway is well worth a visit, but check the website to make sure trains are running. A 3.5-mile walk can be very enjoyable and offers the opportunity to see a wide variety of wildfowl, birds, wildlife, and always Red deer to be seen. There are cafes on both sides of the park. The Brownhills side visitors centre offers additional facilities; children's play area is fenced to prevent unsupervised access to the lake.
Great outdoor space. Busier at the weekends, has two cafes and a coffee shop, toilets and innovation centre. There is also a great craft shop at the back of the centre raising money for a local charity. Lots of open space for kids to play, also water sports and steam railway at certain times of the year. Car parking is NOT free. It is possible to walk all the way round the lake but this gets very muddy in the winter. You may see deer at quieter times.
