Chatsworth, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. There is always something new to see and do in the house, garden, farmyard & adventure playground. Every penny of visitor admission goes directly to the Chatsworth House Trust, a registered charity (No. 511149) dedicated to the long-term preservation of Chatsworth House, the collections, garden, woodlands and park for the long-term benefit of the public.
Took the clan out here for a day out and at first I was reluctant due to the price of admission. Yet all in all I would say it is worth it. The building itself takes about 2 hours to take in and then there are the gardens. It's best to go on a nice day to make the most of it. There is a lot of see in the gardens and both gardens and buildings are beautifully kept. There are toilets and cafes onsite to keep you going all day. The prices are higher than normal but it's good food and coffee for the price. Outside the building there are lockers to be found which I found considerate for bikers as they are large enough to store helmets in which would save you carrying them around. In the building you can talk to the staff and they can give you further details about the area they are manning. It's a lovely place to spend your day but be ready for a lot of walking. Especially if you get lost in the maze. Enjoy.
You can easily spend a whole day visiting all the beauties here, the interiors are gorgeous and the gardens are huge! All very well maintained and designed with good taste. One of the most beautiful castles in England
Was a lovely afternoon out. The house was stunning and immaculately maintained. Beautiful artwork and sculptures throughout. Would have loved to spend more time in the garden and explore, but we ran out of time. We will be making a return trip to see the garden as there is so much to see.
The house is interesting, a bit of a museum collection rather than an open place view. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of things to see and do. The park is beautiful you can plan an all day program here. Nice collection of plants, breathtaking landscape design and entertainment for every age group.
