A truly incredible place! The journey down the gorge to the village is stunning. Shear cliffs towering upwards with goats grazing on the scrub. The caves are breathtaking, steeped in history. A first class experience. Highly recommended!
Nice place. Plenty of car parking places. Public toilets there. You can park by the road as well for some extra cost PS6. We had a lovely walk. Beautiful small town centre. Plenty of beautiful shops there. We tried cheddar cheese, it was really tasty. A little bit busy and a bit hard to find car parking space but go up to the hill there is still some more parking.
I took my 7 year old grandson who loved it . For his Birthday experience. Last time I visited Cheddar Cave was with his Dad and uncle who were just a little bit older !!! Lots more f new stuff as I definitely don't recall all the caves . We had a lovely walk through the village brought some cheese and ice cream . Get there early as no main car park so it's a matter of finding a spot and then a walk down and step walk back up. Not the best if you have very young children or prams as no main foot path . Other wise perfect day out lots of nice little areas to sit and have a picnic if you have parked somewhere out of the main Village .
Beautiful gorge, we arrived early as it is extremely busy. Shois, pubs, scenery, caves, what more do you need. Parking near the top is free, lower down PS6 9am - 9pm.
Be a cave man/woman and explore the super natural beauty of the caves with paths leading all the way in and out it's easy to navigate through, but there are some steps to climb but it's worth it. With plenty of shops of all types down the main road cafes and restaurants, you're not stuck for a drink or something to eat. Parking is plenty, but you may struggle as it gets very busy. Enjoy your day.
