A heritage railway, running heritage steam and diesel hauled trains. Open every Sunday, from Mothers' Day until Halloween, with addition days at holiday times and for special events. Santa specials run from late November until Christmas, with post Christmas themed trains until early January. We welcome families and railway enthusiasts, as our philosophy is to offer vintage railway travel for all. Our station at Chinnor has a large car park in Kiln Avenue (free to our visitors) and Princes Risborough has cross-platform interchange with Chiltern Railways (London Marylebone to Oxford, Aylesbury and Birmingham). NOTE: Chiltern Railways charge for the Princes Risborough car park. For more details on our heritage railway visit our website.
This shall be historical heritage railway has been going for 34 years and has grown from strength to strength due to the dedication and enthusiasm of the volunteers running it. It runs both steam and diesel engines to appeal to all tastes with restored vintage rolling stock and they have rebuilt the long demolished station at Chinnor, rebuilt the platform at Princes Risborough where they have also restored the old signal box. They also run themed specials on their line including but not limited to Santa Specials, a murder Mystery trip and a Carol Singing Special. They have achieved amazing things and have ambitious plans for the future. Recommended!
A small heritage line run by enthusiastic volunteers. A small but well stocked shop along with a decent sized car park at Chinnor. There is a cafe and marquee for refreshments as well, and prices are very reasonable. The line itself is very pretty and there is a MASSIVE signal box at Princes Risborough. There is an interchange with mainline rail here too. Services were pulled by a lovely Small Prarie and a massive class 37 in turn. The meals on board are recommended. We has the cream tea which was lovely.
We enjoyed the round trip on the steam and diesel trains. Only downside was not being able to take a collapsable pram for the other end for our toddler to nap in. My children loved the model railway set. We look forward the the line extension.
Great day at C&PRR yesterday with the grandkids. Super operation. Good fun.
Nice preserved railway with good access from the national network at Princes Risborough. We'll worth a visit!
It is a great little heritage railway, it is very nice when you get a vintage first gen Diesel Mutiple Unit like a bubble car so that you can get a drivers eye view of the line.
