This 22-hectare nature reserve features a variety of habitats, including woodland, grassland, and wetlands, providing a haven for local wildlife. A network of trails allows visitors to explore the reserve, taking in the sights and sounds of nature. The reserve is particularly notable for its birdlife, with over 40 species recorded, including kingfishers, herons, and birds of prey. The woodland areas are dominated by oak and ash trees, while the grasslands are home to a range of wildflowers, including orchids and cowslips. The reserve also features several ponds, which attract amphibians, insects, and other aquatic life.
Lots of hard work gone on with volunteers to improve wildlife and human interactions. A tad busy at weekend but great to let you dog walk whilst you take pictures of the copious wildlife. Peaceful and cathartic
Lots of varied paths. Even though it's close to the motorway you don't notice it.
I recommend you don't visit here. I like to walk for miles and never see anyone.
Beautiful place, plenty of open spaces
Great place for a walk through the woodland paths and meadows. It's great for dogs, but be responsible as livestock is out in field throughout the year.
A lot of effort being made to improve the reserve. Great to have somewhere so close to walk. But still people leaving dog mess behind. Why do these people think it's ok to do this?? Confronted one couple with 3 dogs who were not cleaning up after them and was verbally abused.
Hiking
Good for kids
Dogs allowed
