A tranquil and picturesque spot, Clatto Reservoir is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. Located in the heart of Scotland, this reservoir offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside and is a haven for wildlife. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities, including walking, cycling, and fishing, or simply relax and take in the serene atmosphere.
Nice too look at but the walk along the side of the reservoir isn't the easiest. Anyone with walking difficulties won't manage it. Discovered its suitable for canoes and kayaks so we'll take them next time.
A quiet place for a walk. The reservoir is a calm place and you're unlikely to be disturbed by many people here. There is a track here that takes you ride a part of the water and onto Kennoway, while there is a rougher path round the other side. Fishing is possible here with a permit.
Lovely spot to walk the dog (or just yourself!) with handy little car park. I went on a breezy afternoon last week with little waves being whipped across the reservoir which had about 30 to 40 swans on it and a flock of what I think were Pochard ducks. Also running beside the car park and east end of the reservoir is the Pilgrim Way (65 miles in total!) I had a wander along some of it and it was a really good surface! If I'm down that way again I'll certainly return there.
Nice quiet little local reservoir. I'd imagine disabled access could be difficult as there's a steepish gravel track from the carpark up to the top of the spillway. I believe there's a fishery here but I'm sure it's permit only. Not sure where or how you get a permit though.
Lovely walk, stunning views with lush and varied vegetation. Small car park.
Lovely wee place. Nice walk amazing scenes.
