Nature reserve's visitor centre with a cafe, a shop and panoramic views of surrounding marshes.
We had a fantastic day here. It's so peaceful and beautiful at all the hides. What was supposed to be a "couple of hours stop" turned out to be an "all day stop" it captives you that much. We had "coffee and cake" in the visitor centre. This was very busy as it was lunchtime. A POINT TO NOTE... DON'T PAY FOR PARKING AT THE MACHINES IF YOUR ARE PLANNING TO VISIT THE HIDES AS THE PARKING IS INCLUDED WITH YOUR SITE ADMISSION, only pay at the machines if only using the visitor centre/cafe.
One of our favourite places to visit. The staff are helpful and informative. The cafe is excellent and will pack up sandwiches to take with you across the marsh. However, this is all eclipsed by the variety and number of birds that we saw (we visited in April): marsh harriers, spoonbills, curlew, godwit, ruff, redshank, teal and avocet amongst some more common estuary birds. We highly recommend a visit.
Parked with the fam, got coffee and cake, ate the cake, drank the coffee, the kids did some colouring as we enjoyed the view. Went for a wander to a hide, nice walk, nice hide, saw some birdies, wandered back. Nothing to complain about.
Although we're not bird watches, like many others we called in for coffee and brunch. Staff absolutely wonderful and boy, are their portions substantial. The video shows our outlook towards the sea whilst eating. Plenty of parking and although you have to pay, take the second half of the ticket in with you to get a free drink
Everything you'd hope for when you need it I stop here even though I'm not a NWT member. The Coasthopper Bus stops right outside over several hours of the day, and the free access along the paths (but not to the hides in the middle of the marsh) provides plenty of opportunity for big skies, bird watching, access to the beach. The village of Cley is ten minutes along the path, if you want to visit a pub or the cafe In the centre itself, they sell food (you may want to check when this closes), have a great place to look over the marshes, and has a clean and accessible toilet if needed It's a great place to start, spend, or end, a day
