This 19th-century garden is a tranquil oasis featuring a variety of plant species, walking trails, and a picturesque pond. The gardens are surrounded by a stunning Victorian-era clock tower, which adds to the charm and character of the space. Visitors can explore the gardens, attend one of the many events and exhibitions held here, or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
Surprisingly charming little place. At first, I didn't think it would be all that great, as it's just off the High Street, but actually - once you walked through the gate, you wouldn't even know you were in the middle of a busy town. Just before you get through the gate, on the windowsill on right hand side, you will see free cans if bird food to feed the ducks, geese and other feathery friends that will come to greet you. Unfortunately - you will also see some rats around the pond trying to get hold of a free snack and that is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.
Very lovely place, always coming here! Just be careful of birds poop
I love clockhouse gardens, it's so peaceful. Lovely place to come and clear your head, and spend a little time with the ducks and geese around the lake. Great photo opportunities too.
A perfect stop on your walk in Upminster to feed the ducks. Ideal for kids, and it is so convenient to have in town.
There is a lovely lady who lives in the apartment by the gate who leaves tins full of bird seed on her window sill free to anyone who wants to feed the wildlife. She only has two requests one is you return the empty tins and the other is you don't throw the seed into the water. She is happy for you to take as many tins as you like as long as you feed the hungry birds. We take my grandson there regularly and he loves it! There is also access to the bowling green where you are welcome to watch the players during the summer months. This is also a very relaxing pass time of ours.
Hundreds of quacking Ducks, a murky pond surrounded by mud and trees filled with cooing Pigeons (eyes up people). The glorious smell of Avian defecation and tainted water. Nature at its best. Best be careful when eating your lunch on the lovely benches.
