The Cluanie Bar and Grill serves mountain inspired cuisine, a menu of impressive hearty classics like burgers, ribs and steaks, and international favourites in a lively and casual ambience where travellers and locals gather to enjoy the well-stocked bar.
There is very little on this long stretch of highway to Isle of Skye. This was our destination along the way to stop for lunch. If you go this way, you know the views to Skye are phenomenal !! And this restaurant situated amongst the huge mountains and picturesque background is just amazing. There is also gas available. The restaurant itself is very tastefully decorated. Service was very nice, prompt, friendly. Had a craft beer which was great. Kids menu available with good options - our son had mac n cheese with very lovely cheese blend, yum! I had the spicy chicken burger - it was AMAZING. Honestly the best chicken burger I've had. Super saucy which is how I like it, nice and spicy, well cooked. DELICIOUS. Please stop here along the way.
The whole show: great food. Great service, and a wonderful nature context and background. Food seems self grown, and the menu is full of options veggie, meaty and Indian. I'd love to try the stay my next time around!
Surprisingly good food but a bit more costly than I expected. The Philly steak and cheese was amazing. Their club sandwich was served hot and was good but quite heavy on the stomach. The pizza was pretty good too (very thin and crispy) which I'm sure is not to everyone's taste but I liked it. The highlight was the hilarious latte art.
The food here is amazing! I would say that the price of the food matches the great quality. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I can't wait to come back and eat here again on my holiday next year. The only downside is that there were americans that complain for no good reason. Just ignore them. To the staff, you're doing a great job, never change .
This was the place to eat!!! It was the only place open that we could find along the route to Inverness. And im glad we took the chance to stop in and eat!! Most places are strictly reservations only for some odd reason and I was so thankful they were not!! The staff were all very kind and courteous! Definitely one of the best places on our list of places we have eaten!!
The inn glows at night like a beacon on the lonely road out of Isle of Skye. A very large impressive menu. The grilled mushrooms are juicy and very tasty. Spicy peanut butter sauce is good and warms me up. We ended up dipping everything in it. Mussels are a little thin and over cooked but can't complain on a late night dinner. Baked yoghurt is interesting. Tastes like cheesecake. Not too sweet. The lemony ice cream is also zesty and lovely. The sirloin steak and lamb chops are beautifully grilled, perfectly medium, tender and juicy. The steak's mushroom sauce is awesome. The chop has a crispy aromatic fatty cap. I'm sure the Indian options would be nice too but perhaps next time. (Also intrigued by tikka masala pizza The portion is decent. Service is prompt. We didn't stay here because it's sold out, but it still served as a necessary stop because there is no place for food after leaving the Isle at 8 pm...
