This ancient woodland is a tranquil oasis nestled in the rolling hills of the Chilterns, boasting a rich tapestry of flora and fauna. Towering beech and oak trees, some of which date back centuries, stretch towards the sky, their gnarled branches twisted with age. The forest floor, carpeted with a soft layer of leaves, ferns, and wildflowers, is crisscrossed by winding paths and streams, inviting exploration and discovery.
Once you've parked in the generous car park which is free. You can turn right and go and soak up the view or go left and find the cinder path of the Polden Way. The path down and back up from the ravine is very precarious but this is a beautiful walk and my dog loved it. The yellow footpath is currently treacherous and needs wellies!
What a lovely safe space to walk your dogs. Fabulous car park (free of charge) picnic benches in some gorgeous spots with amazing views. One down side there is a lot of dog mess, maybe a pooh bin would encourage dog owners to bag it bin it.
A beautiful forest with lovely's views and routes to walk. Dog friendly park with lots of different paths to walk. Some areas do contain steps and steep walks, so be aware. Car parking is free, which i find is a nice bonus Lovely to visit all year round. Toilets and fresher shops aren't nearby, just a heads up, so bringing a picnic could be helpful.
Good place to visit at any time of year. Very popular with dog walkers. Very busy car park Boxing Day afternoon, but didn't see many people while walking in the woods.
Stunning place for views walks and just chilling out.
Really enjoyed this walk with my dog today, fantastic views from a number of locations. Well kept stone paths made it easy to figure out where to go and the paths off the track made it even more enjoyable walk. Recommend you give Combe Hill a visit
