Conquest House is a medieval fortified house located in Emsworth, Hampshire, England. Built in the 15th century, it features a mix of Gothic and Tudor architectural styles. The house is constructed from flint and stone rubble with a tiled roof and is surrounded by a moat. It has been altered and extended over the centuries, with additions including a 16th-century wing and an 18th-century façade. The house is now a private residence and is not open to the public.
A lovely place, safe to say its very old timber framed building, hopefully someone else can post some more info on that. One enters into a grocery shop, produce looks super fresh. There are also organic nut/grain dispensers, bought a bag of organic buckwheat amongst other things... On the back wall is a 16th century motif found behind some plaster. Downstairs the shop continues with eco friendly items... They also had vegan cakes freshly baked by the super friendly shopkeeper. Upstairs is a contemporary art gallery - the exposed roof structure is worth a look and the garden must be fab in summer.
Fabulous new bring your own container shop. If you care about eliminating plastic waste, shop here. It's like a traditional grocers.
Canterbury a delightful small Victorians town Rather quiet and respectful atmosphere excellent pubs and restaurants
