WILL BE OPEN FROM Sunday 31st March 2024 Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday including Easter Sunday and all Bank Holiday Mondays A safe haven for all unwanted and mistreated captive bred animals. We have Birds of Prey, parrots, goats, sheep, ponies, alpacas etc etc. All will live here forever in the knowledge they will never be passed on or sold . This is their home for life
What a great place for a family visit. It's brilliantly set out and spacious, and you can see by the cleanliness just how well the birds and animals are looked after. There are twice daily flying exhibitions, and the commentary by the owner is funny and informative. They also have a great cafe selling home produced food, and a shop selling mementos of your visit. Highly recommended.
Had a really great day today visiting the Cornish Birds of Prey! Amazing to see such a beautiful selection of birds, from Owls to Eagles to Falcons to Parrots! All the birds are so healthy and well cared for by an amazing team of dedicated trainers and staff, who are incredibly knowledgeable on each and every species. My highlight was the birds of prey flying display, which are incredibly informative at showcasing the species of birds and also the cheekiness of their individual personalities! All in all, a really great day out and somewhere I'd 100% be returning to next time I'm in Cornwall on holiday!
Always a pleasure to come and see the well looked after and cared for birds. We have been coming for years now and the family who dedicate their lives to these mistreated birds/ animals deserve so much more. Andy and Kelly and their 3 girls work 24/7 not only looking after the rescued animals but also wild birds, which includes through the night. The centre over the years has been worked on to improve the quality of the birds lives but money doesn't grow on trees. They rely on support from the public to help them care for these animals and every penny really does count. The centre itself is a beautiful place to visit, you have lovely lakes to walk around, duck pound and two very informative bird displays, these are very personal and informative displays and they are done for the benefit of the birds. The birds of pray that are able to be flown have come from different backgrounds and Andy has worked closely with them to try and give them a better life as some have never been flown. Please have a sense of humour when visiting as the family do this day in day out and are not robots.
We watched 2 displays, 1 at 12 pm and another at 2pm. 3 birds were flown each time. The falconer was very knowledgeable in his talks about birds and could answer all questions. They are very passionate about the work they do for the animals they have on site. Many of the birds have been rehomed, injured, it neglected. Some can never be flown as they have been kept in small averies nit allowing their lung capacity to develope. There is a small tea room with toilet facilities and a play area for children. The woodland walk is brilliant, I could have spent a long time walking around the lake and surrounding area. There is a wetland area with ducks and geese. Come and listen to the cockatoo shouting out hello. There are cages in the parking area to place your dogs while you are visiting. There is outdoor seating to have your picnic or food from the cafe. There is an indoor flight arena if it is raining.
Lovely day out - birds all beautifully cared for, happy and healthy. You can tell the staff truly care about these gorgeous birds! Although a very small centre, still plenty to do with a flying display at 12, and then again at 2. We chose to stay for the 2pm one, which gave us plenty of time to sit and have some food in the cafe (which was lovely) and walk around the centre. Both displays were fantastic with a very knowledgeable and friendly Bird Keeper. Overall well worth the money (in fact, I would pay more!)
Great day out , arrived at 11 when they opened and left at 3 after the last flight show , lots of birds to see and loved reading their stories. Staff were really friendly and educational. Wasn't bothered about the entry price as it goes to a good cause ,you can see that it goes back into birds , they're all well kept and clean. Clean averies , and the same for the facilities. Even faced my fears of geese whilst here when I met leyla I think her name was . Thank you for an amazing day out
