The Cornish Seal Sanctuary is a charity that rescues and rehabilitates grey seals pup from around the Cornish Coastline. Each season, the Sanctuary rehabilitates over 70 seal pups that have been rescued for various reasons, from malnourishment to being separated from their mum. The Sanctuary also provides a permanent home to animals that need special care from their team of marine animal experts. When visiting the Sanctuary, you can experience wonderful marine animals up close and personal and learn all about their individual stories.
A different type of fun day out with the kids. Educational and family friendly, the sanctuary is a really lovely place to visit. Once you have bought your tickets, they're valid for 1 year so good value. Plenty to see and do. The talks are informative and have funny facts about the seals. Definitely worth a visit.
Really enjoyed seeing the seals, never seen them before and they did not disappoint. Watched the feed which was good. One of the tanks was closed and so was the underwater viewing for the seals. There are also pelicans to see which was nice. There is a lot of walking to the pools and around the site.
My other half, our dog, and I had a fantastic day at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary! We loved that it's dog-friendly, making it a great day out for all of us. There are plenty of spots to sit and soak in the beautiful scenery, and of course, seeing the seals up close was amazing. The puffins were an adorable bonus! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fun and relaxing outing.
So nice to visit, however it is very hilly. They do an amazing job rescuing seals and puffins. You can take your dog around the site, and they have thoughtfully supplied an accessibility vehicle for those with limited mobility. An ice cream shop, and lovely tasty pasties and other savoury treats can be had from the on site cafe. We were also very lucky to find some sleepy slow worms!
Lovely visit with two children during summer holiday. Great work being done with seals and also puffins - we loved Puffin Island and even came away 'adopting' a puffin named Thor! Looking forward to going back to Cornwall and visiting him :)
Amazing place. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The hills throughout the site were significant though. The seals and puffins were easily seen, but we didn't get to see the beavers.
