This 120-acre park features five lakes, walking trails, and a variety of wildlife, including birds, fish, and insects. Visitors can enjoy water sports, fishing, and picnicking, as well as explore the surrounding countryside and nearby villages. The park also offers a cafe, play areas, and a visitor center with information on the local environment and history.
Always great to walk around here. Parking is easy. Disappointing the medieval village was shut on Saturday. I guess Welsh history is only for retired people going midweek at midday, we just pay for it all. Park was great for the kids.
Went today on a bank holiday, been before but a beautiful walk with stunning views, the medieval village is fun for the children and a nice park! The only grumble I'd have is lack of parking for the size of the park/lake there isn't a whole amount of parking! Parking is also free for Blue badge holders and a pushchair can easily be pushed around the whole park
Clean and tidy park. Parking is PS1 per hour and the kids love it. Great cycle path north of the lake and the play area and forest are one of the best in the area. Food at the cafe is alright but expensive. Toilets could do with an update, they're really smelly.
Chill place, stunning view, lovely Lake Recommended for you
Lovely place for a walk, an ice cream and a drink. Beautiful scenery. Have yet to visit the medieval village but will get there eventually.
Our first ever visit and took the 'scenic route' through Barry and Sully (Sully was busier than normal on a Sunday, as there was a car-boot sale next to the sports ground). Parking was easy and plenty of spaces, as we were there 10mins after it had opened. Pleasant walks around the lake and through Cogan Woods (we took a photo of the map but would have benefited from a few more signposts). Lots of wildlife to see but had to watch where we were treading because of the amount of horse droppings along all the paths (only saw the one horse + rider, but the trails must be popular). The other downside were the amount of dogs left to run free (sorry, but my wife isn't too confident around them) and come darting out of undergrowth and the trees. Traffic was heavy heading out to Llandough (decided to head home another route), getting back out to the A4232 and M4.
