Coton Countryside Reserve can be visited 365 days of the year. Entry is free of charge. Opening hours are dawn until dusk. There are miles of paths for visitors to enjoy the countryside, including a walk up to Red Meadow Hill, where there are fantastic views. The main spine path through the reserve is hard surface and suitable for wheelchairs and cycles. There are grass meadows and newly planted orchards where you can stray off the path and enjoy a picnic. Dogs are very welcome but must be kept on leads except in the dog run area (located next to the spine path near the car park). Dog bins are provided. There are no toilet facilities at the Reserve. The reserve is part of a working farm, please be aware that some fields contain animals.
Such a beautiful place and now at risk of a guided bus way ploughing through it. I take my puppy there to use the enclosed dog safe field. He loves this place and so do I. Plenty of seating which helps as I struggle with mobility issues. Views across fields with only the M11 noise spoiling the peace but even that is soon forgotten. Plenty of walking options and poo bins too. Visit this hidden gem before it's destroyed. Lots of free parking too
Thank you so much for the enclosed dog run - we have a 1 year old Husky who loves to run but has too high a prey drive to be allowed off the lead normally - having a safe space to let him run is wonderful. He says thanks very much as well!
More of a walk across farmland than a walk arouWnd a natural country reserve. Have to negotiate sheep and cattle in fields, can be very mucky in wet weather. Slicks of soaking cow pats congeal across gateways. Not well maintained, broken gates and bridges. Not good for dog walking.
A nice little nature reserve that was looking a little parched when we visited following the drought of 2022. Very dog-friendly as there's an enclosed field for letting them off the lead (with poo bins). I guess at busy times you have to judge if that's a good idea but we were the only ones there on a working day. Will be glad when its rained a few more times and the paw sized cracks have closed up.
Great to find a fenced in dog safe area to give dogs which otherwise do not go off leash a little run. Would be even better if the chicken wire was covering the lower part of gates, as smaller dogs could still scramble through and escape. Still a great find though, nice walks too.
Absolutely fantastic area for a dog walk. The routes are obvious and well trodden, leading to spectacular views of Cambridgeshire. Car park is easy to find and park in, although not many spaces. There are free maps provided so quite difficult to get lost.
