A picturesque beach with soft, golden sand and crystal-clear turquoise water, surrounded by rugged cliffs and scenic coastal paths. The beach is secluded and peaceful, making it an ideal spot for those seeking relaxation and tranquility. At low tide, the beach reveals a vast expanse of sand, perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and beach activities. The surrounding cliffs offer stunning views of the coastline and the opportunity for scenic walks and hikes. The beach is also a haven for wildlife, with frequent sightings of seabirds, dolphins, and seals.
Lovely little cove. Cheap parking and a couple cafes and a pub. Nice to chill and have a coffee/ice cream and a little walk. Some incredible views on the way to and from too!
Was disappointed with the dirty surroundings of this lovely little beach. The pathways were overgrown and there were discarded bags of dog poo thrown or left about. We had a cup of tea in the pub but we didn't stay there long.
I have only given 3 stars- as hhe beach isn't much, as it is a Cove really. The tennis court has thr best view! There is s lovely pub, 2 cafes and an ice cream gift shop, plus boast path wslks , do 5 stars for the whole of Crackington. Toilets are basic, as funded by locals and visitors money.
Crackington Haven St Gennys Circular Walk This is a great walk. Start by walking to the back of the carpark by the beach, turn left and follow the path to the road. A little way up on the right, across the road, is the path going up the side of the hill. It is a long path, fairly gently sloping to the top. You still need good knees for it though. There are great views of Crackington and the beach all the way up. Follow the well marked path over the top, that dips down into the next valley. Back up the other side, another long incline. Once at the top, follow the path. For St Gennys, there is a turn to the right before you get to the metal gate(?) heading along the coast. It is marked but you could easily miss it too. Go down into the valley, through the wooded area. Up the other side into a farmers field. Follow it to the right and you come to a track by some houses. We missed the track direct to St Gennys but joined it very close to the church. Follow the track up to a farmers field, through the gate, turn right. Follow it round or use the track through the field. Do not go through the first metal gate leading to the coast. Follow the rough track to the far right corner. There is a gate there. Loads of cows were huddled there but they were quite placid when we went through. Home stretch. Follow the top going right. This is the hill overlooking Crackington. Keep going and join the path that brought you up, back down into Crackington Haven. 2 hours roughly depending on your fitness etc.
