A picturesque beach with soft, golden sand and calm, clear waters, surrounded by rugged coastline and scenic walking trails, perfect for relaxing and taking in the breathtaking views of the Firth of Forth.
We arrived there around 11 am and we walked to the other island, but we had to stop at the middle of the way because the water was increasing around 12 pm. The weather was good there for a picnic, but if there is sun then it's even better!
Beautiful place to go for walk. Tide was out for miles spectacular views and walks. Only thing missing I would say is somewhere to get snack or drink for kids. There was ice cream van there that was beautiful.
This island is something different, in a way that I like it how it works You get to the car park, and there, there is a sign where it says to text "cramond" at one number and they tell you the"safe" hours to get to the island, by foot, salty Safely...I got there around 8.45 in the morning and the safe time was 8.25 -14.00 so plenty of time for me to walk there, go up the hill, explore and come back, one trip it took me exactly 15 minutes one way walking normally Be careful not to get stuck when the road it covers again with water, as you'll be stuck for good hours
It's a beach but not that good. Parking is bad. Decent places to eat and view is decent. If in the locality, I would say give it a go, but don't have high expectations. Local fish and chips place/ice cream palour in one has BAD communication due to bad English .
Lovely place to just sit back an admire the scenery . Plenty of beaches to sit on , there are trails if you want to go for walks. Also an ice cream van if your fancying ice cream. Also they have toilets there which is a godsend
The views at Crammond are spectacular and feeding the ducks along the River was a treat. Unfortunately the public toilets were locked before lunch for "vandalism" and opened after. I thought the walk along the causeway would be longer, only 0.8 miles. The island is definitely worth a visit, not only to see the ww2 outpost but also the buildings at the far back.
