The Crampton Tower Museum is a fascinating small museum is partly housed in a flint tower adjacent to the Broadstairs Railway Station. The tower formed part of the first Broadstairs public water supply and was put in repair by Thanet District Council. Thomas Russell Crampton is perhaps chiefly remembered as a designer of locomotives and of railways
Great museum with friendly volunteers who are extremely knowledgeable about the history of the place. Highly recommended for public transportations lovers. Entrance fee is reasonable as they do need funds to maintain the place. It will help a lot if you could buy something or do a small donation.
Highly recommended! Super for kids. Lots of great model train set ups and related ephemera. Cool reservoir building with spectacular echo! Also lovely vintage model cars etc for sale for PS2-3 each. Very welcoming local volunteer staff.
We went to meet Santa which was great and the museum and wasn't too bad either if you are into trains.
We went to visit Santa today. Such an amazing experience and certainly worth the admission fee, which was really reasonable. Cost includes a tour around the train museum, ride on the model train personal Santa visit and a gift Highly recommended
The museum was a big hit with my children who didn't want to leave it! There are a few electric trains that visitors can operate (by pressing a button) including ones that are pulled by engines from Thomas The Tank Engine. The museum is run by friendly volunteers. Great for kids. Check opening times before visiting because it's open only briefly and not daily.
Absolutely brilliant, run by volunteers who were fab & so cheap as well. A credit to Broadstairs
