A fantastic variety of habitats including woodland, reedbed, ditches, ponds and river can be found on a site formerly used for gunpowder production in Whitton.
First time saw this beauty in Crane Park. Wasn't aware that they live here. It was no bigger than a medium sized dog and very curious
Beautiful place for a relaxing walk out, plenty of wildlife to spot, loved the stepping stones and having a little paddle and looking for fish! Interesting bits of history there with the shot tower, the only downsides were a fair bit of litter around and there's plenty of bins! The mobile cafe don't even bother, makes up their own prices, food on display looked old, not a very friendly guy and playing loud booming music that spoilt the atmosphere a bit of the peaceful surroundings so take a picnic for sure or eat elsewhere that's my advice!
A gorgeous park where you can easily forget how close to central London you are. lots of pathways to explore and lots of wildlife to spot. Interesting history too with the shot tower a great place to visit to learn more about it.
Crane Park is a lovely relaxing, friendly place to visit. Take the tarmac path through the park or go off the path onto the more rugged route and find yourself more close to nature. Either way is very enjoyable although the latter route could be rather muddy depending on the weather!
This is a great little park located along the River Crane between Hounslow and Twickenham, Richmond borough. Meanders through and joins the river Thames as a small tributary. A park is not normally much to write home about, however this one I particularly enjoy as it is left in a state of semi wilderness, although the edges are maintained. There is a small Crane Park Island nature reserve by the old shot tower , which is worth a circular walk. There are some owls, red kites and sparrowhawks in the area, If you are very lucky you may have sight or a glimpse of a kingfisher! A beautiful irredescent electric blue bird flying close to the water surface. Enjoy your glorious walk.
Perfect place to relax. For those who enjoy sounds of the wildlife, river flowing around and wind gently humming while going through the crowns of trees. The only minus i'd say is tiny lack of benches and bins inside the park.
