Small but well preserved abbey ruins, well managed by English Heritage. Very peaceful with a couple of information boards explaining the history of the abbey.
Tiny compact and beautiful Abbey. A 10 minute walk around. We saw a fun Shakespeare play here, and it was the perfect setting for a balmy summer evening.
Very nice atmosphere with comfortable seating and good staff service. We had coffee and sausage rolls and later (after looking round the shops and Abbey tea and cake all excellent .
Great place to visit, Did the walk to the village and back very quiet and loads of wildlife saw a muntjac with a baby, Red deer, kites and buzzards flying overhead. The went to the cafe for a coffee and lovely cake.
Very lovely & peaceful place, to admire the ruins of Creake Abbey. Take your time & breath in the fresh air. The Creake Abbey was built in the 13th century for the Augustinians community. The church was destroyed by a disastrous fire in the 1480s.
If you're in the area, stop by for a quick look at the ruins, a fab piece of history! Don't expect to spend too long there, but as a (free!) little extra to see while you stop for lunch at the lovely cafe, it really is great. Informative signs let you imagine what it must have been like.
