Beware hiking the trail in February after very heavy rain. It's an absolute quagmire. You will need decent waterproof boots for at least half of it. Apart from that, very enjoyable trail
Lovely place to walk the dogs - very pretty and easy to get to. Parking is great, but can get very muddy. Amazing place to see deer too!
We stopped and dropped some friends at their car. He explained about the walks in the wood. Definitely a dog-walking place. Parking for free, and entrance alone looked inviting. We will go back for a walk.
Great place to walk dogs especially when it is hot. Tree cover drops the temperature a lot. Can stick to the wide paths or take a quieter path into woods. On some paths you can walk for 30 minutes without seeing anyone else. Car park is a bit rough so go slowly when you turn off the road. Never not be able to park even on weekends.
Fairly busy Saturday morning with plenty of dog walkers and only a couple of parking spaces free. The ground is very uneven so take care when driving into the carpark, many large pot holes and sunken surfaces. Plenty of pathways into the woods for a stroll and very pleasant on a sunny morning.
