Crib Goch is a mountain in the Carneddau range in Snowdonia, northwest Wales. It is known for its distinctive arête, a narrow rocky ridge that forms the summit, which is often shrouded in mist. The mountain offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, including the Ogwen Valley and the nearby peaks of Carnedd Ugain and Carnedd Llewelyn. The terrain is rugged and rocky, with steep slopes and scree-covered hillsides, making it a challenging but rewarding climb for experienced hikers.
Expect to reverse quite a few times along this single track road, keep your eyes peeled or you may miss the turning, if you are going up you are going the right way ! Spectacular views, take your walking boots, snacks and water. You decide how far to want to explore, watch out for unique geology on the sides as you make your way across the top. Also known as the Cats Back Circa 45 mins to the highest point, and then onwards towards the first Trig Point (total time circa 1 hour ?) Then pop into the Bulls Head for lunch (Shut Mon Tues Weds) circa 20 mins away
A beautiful walk with great views of the ridge and the valley! The road coming in to black hill car park is small and full of potholes, so it needs improving. There aren't any toilets or other facilities.
