This 1.5-mile-long park in Greater Manchester features a scenic walking and cycling route that follows the route of a former railway line. The park is lined with trees, wildflowers, and grasslands, providing a tranquil oasis amidst the urban surroundings. Along the way, visitors can discover public art installations, benches, and picnic areas, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and recreation.
Beautiful walk, safe for (well behaved) dogs to wander off lead due to being cut off from traffic. Friendly people and well kept.
Short walk, muddy but we brought waterproof boots with us. It's a shame it doesn't really go anywhere, you just get to a fence, overlooking a railway track, and then turn round and walk back. But it was a bit of fresh air after visiting the local wool shop (which was excellent :)
Not to bad for a quick stroll Adequate parking available and quite nice scenery. Only problem I found was the amount of mud due to standing water at the far end preventing us from going any further. I thought the walk was a good bit further but due to said mud it was off limits for me and my furry friend. Maybe in the height of summer it's better but I visited in march and this is what I found. I may well revisit later in the year to give it another try.
More woods than a park and just a peaceful walk for a mile or so!
Nice place to go for a walk if your local, lots of space for kids and the dogs to run and play, path is a dirt track so recommend wearing decent footwear, not the best place for mobility scooters or wheelchairs especially in the autumn/winter month's as we did get very stuck in mud a good few times with mum, was fun trying to get her out. Nice place what we seen if it as we were limited to how far we could go due to the mud, but enjoyed the time we spent there.
A great walk for taking the dog also if you do Pokemon go there are lots of pokastops and Pokemon to catch.
