Imposing 1824 castle housing a museum with a collection of fine art and social history items.
Came here for a day with the family for a day out. Plenty of free parking, good toilets to the entrance to the park, miniature railway, museum, green houses and a splash park. The staff were friendly and a shout out to John for giving us some key info for our visit. So much history for a small amount of money. Military discount accepted.
very beautiful gardens and lakeside area, enjoy walking on the path, along with kids riding on the mini train, which is very cute. There are lots of parking space besides the mansion.
Incredible castle and grounds. We visited on Monday and it's closed. The grounds and outside is open for visitors. Beautiful flower beds and landscape grounds. The castle is grand and well maintained
Loved it great day out nice lake castle train ride and splash park for the kids free parking you can buy food there or take a picnic PS2 for the castle and the train ride BARGIN
Such a magnificent beauty: the walls, the history, paintings and sculptures, they're filled with stories and learning. Quiet and peaceful, it's a perfect place to spend time with your loved ones.
Went with a 3 year old and 5 year old. Fantastic day out for all the family which doesn't cost the world. Went during school holidays. Lovely splash park for the children next to a park. Lovely cafe although did not eat in there. Lots of places for picnics. Castle was a good walk around and liked they had little things for the kids to do in there. Went on the boat ride by the lake which the children also enjoyed. A cheap day out but a nice day out. Will visit again soon.
