This is a great day out for all ages although a certain degree of fitness is required to enjoy the stunning locations and views. The main cave and cathedral caves are impressive even though you only get to see a small area of what's available. The bone cave may not be to everyone's taste being harder to access and there were numerous complaints about the smell from the hard hats you have to wear. There appear to be hundreds of dinosaur types so children will be happy, along with the petting farm adjacent to the entrance. With a gift shop (can get busy,), small restaurant and plenty of places for a picnic, this is fun and educational place to visit.
Hot day today had sheep, goats, llamas and emus free roaming there was 5 shire horses 3 in paddocks 2 in stables very friendly and beautiful creatures well looked after and stables clean mini golf there looks like a fun course!
The caves were amazing. They were wet and housed many underground pools, small rivers and waterfalls! The walkways were nicely set up and easy to walk around. Outside the caves was a huge dinosaur park (with tons of big plastic dinosaurs) and an animal farm which allowed patting, situated in lush green fields and mountains. It's a lovely place to visit.
We took our 7 year old son to see Father Christmas and wasn't disappointed as he's a proper dinosaur expert. The cave experience was great for the whole family.. including the grandparents .
Really enjoyed. Staff friendly. Caves awesome! Lots to see. Farm part ok. Highlight were the animals roaming around & so tame, the sheep & goats letting kids pet them. Small crazy golf, zip wire, assault course, examples of 1920's businesses eg butchers, general store, blacksmith forge etc. Also Shire horse centre. At least 4 horses, which were immaculate in their comfy stables & paddock. All in all lovely day at Nat, Showcases. Land train takes you up from car park to entrance. Bit steep for some folk. Take it easy, well worth effort if you can see the 3 caves. Cathedral Cave big & impressive. Everywhere clean & well looked after. Well done Dan Yr Ogof.
The indoor play area is ok. But they have made a small golf court which is very interesting. I loved the way it is engineered. There is a magical sand show which was a new experience for me. There is a miniature goat where kids can learn how to get the milk out of a goat. It was cool. There are a species of ostrich called rhea which are so naughty and they keep fighting. There is a generation of horses. A small hut which tells the animal hospital. It was fun and educational at the same time. There are stones placed outdoors and it's been told that if you stand in the middle of those stones and wish, it will be granted by the Ancestors.
