We experienced the Dartmoor Llama Walk today and it was amazing. We were lucky with the weather, and although still a bit chilly, the rain held off to reveal the amazing views that Dartmoor had to offer. The guide was very knowledgeable of the location and offered an in depth historic look into the area. The llamas were very amusing and we're very easy to handle. Very well behaved too. Would highly recommend if in the area and looking for a relaxing/fun activity.
Amazing experience!!! We did a short walk with one Llama (Bella) and one Alpaca (Logan) and had the absolute best time, even with the typical English "summer" weather of wind/rain. The walk was 2hrs and included tea/coffee and a cake (delicious) Diane and Steve are great hosts, very knowledgeable about their animals as well as the local surrounding area. Lots of info given on history and both were really pleasant to yap to on the way around. The animals were gorgeous and very well looked after and cared for. Overall a really great experience and would thoroughly recommend!! We will 100% be booking again!
What an amazing experience! I booked a hot chocolate walk with as a surprise for my partner, and it couldn't have been better! (Well maybe the rain could have been blown away, but what do you expect in December? haha). When we arrived, we were given some health and safety training, and invited to brush the llama's coats as well as an unexpected surprise. Their customer service is absolutely excellent. After that, we were paired up with our llamas. I had Marlia, the lead llama, and she was a girl after my own heart - stopping for every snack she could see! She also let me have a cuddle and some pictures. My partner walked Tilly, who was absolutely the sweetest and fluffiest girl. She liked to have a fuss and also bee-lined for the snacks. Along the walk, Steve and Diane educated us on Dartmoor's history and answered a constant stream of questions from us about Dartmoor and llamas. Steve and Diane were so lovely and approachable, no question was too much or too silly, they'd heard it all before! They were even able to accomodate us being vegan and provided vegan hot chocolate and a vegan brownie. I am absolytely dying to go again and have been raving about it to all my friends.
The most beautiful walk with the most gentle Llamas. We had the pleasure of walking with Mr McGee, Tilly and Willow yesterday for an hour through Dartmoor. Scarlett and Debbie were both so kind and informative and their love for the llamas is second to none. Highly recommend booking a walk if you are ever in the area!
Our Llama walk was amazing, so well organised. We recieved all safety and information about the Llamas and Alpacas before we set out. We walked at a happy and enjoyable pace meeting everyone's needs. The scenery was amazing and we were given detailed information about the close and distant landscape. There was laughter and real enjoyment celebrating the world of nature around us. Steve and Diane could not have been better hosts.
Can't really give a star rating as such as never actually got my llama walk. I had read the descriptions for the walks and completed the booking form on their website for a 1hr walk for 2 people taking part and an additional person (stated on the prices for the 1hr walk). I sent the booking form in advance of our holiday as it was the school summer holidays and didn't want to leave it to chance. It was almost a week and still hadn't received any sort of response for my booking, so called them and booked via telephone, explaining about the additional person, and was booked in for the date and time that was convenient and was told I would receive an email confirming the booking and instructions for payment and information about the visit. This email didn't arrive (yes, I checked my junk email as well). The day before our visit we'd missed a few calls back and forth but eventually spoke to someone about the booking who said she'd send over the confirmation email again as she realised it hadn't been sent. I then queried about the additional person I'd booked for as she'd said only 2 of us could go with the llama - I was told that this was not an option on the 1hr walk and was for if food was involved with the walk, so I explained if that was the case it would just be for 2 people then. A couple of hours later I was called again to say that I was the only booking for that day and could I rearrange the booking for another day - we couldn't do this as we'd already booked other activities for the rest of our holiday and so we didn't get to walk the llamas. Quite disappointed, especially as this was a birthday treat for the other person. My booking was for August Bank Holiday Monday afternoon - I find it a little bit strange that this type of activity would not get booked on a day like that during the school summer holidays.
Getting tickets in advance recommended
Good for kids
