A lovely museum, with a very reasonable entry fee. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They have some beautifully restored pieces and they look like they are constantly updating the information to give the museum a modern feel. One of the staff told me that the visitor numbers fell through the pandemic and never returned to where they used to be. This place is definitely worth a visit, there are three gorgeous examples of the "Wooden Wonder" Mosquito on display.
A small but well maintained museum. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Cafe, shop and toilets. It's the type of place you are glad you popped in. High recommended if you like aircraft.
April 24- Open Day! PS30 for the car and up to 5 of us. Great value as normal entry is PS14. Even that is great for what you see and able to soak up. Volunteers do a brilliant job and the planes and whole place is amazing Recommend. Support heritage and restoration
This location is remarkable. I had the opportunity to visit in the late 1990s and early 2000s, prior to the construction of new hangars and the display of more recent aircraft. It was an extraordinary experience to witness such a large number of aircraft, and it evoked fond memories of visits I shared with my late grandfather.
The museum is great! I have lived in St Albans for years, with children and wished we had gone sooner. My younger ones (7 & 10) loved looking at all of the aircraft, parts, engines as well as the wooden games and Easter Trail. We will be back again when the sun is shining to enjoy the little play area and outside.
Not visited since on a school trip 40+ years ago and should have returned sooner ! Great exhibits looked after by knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers. Where else can you see three Mosquitoes together ?
