Iconic Modernist building from 1935, offering contemporary art exhibitions, eatery, bar and shop.
Great Art Deco building , well maintained . We had lunch in the restaurant which had a wonderful view of course, the food was delicious high end and at a realistic and affordable price. The staff were very attentive and a pleasure. All in all a great experience which I could repeat regularly. There's free parking around a mile away along the beach which makes for a nice walk or cycle .
We came today to see the exhibition and had lunch. Firstly, the parking lot was full, and it was not easy to find a parking spot. The fried tofu poke I had with brown rice needed more sauce; however, the portion was large. Make sure you order your food at the counter before you take your seat.
Went here to see Post Modern Jukebox who were amazing! The venue isn't huge but sound and lights still good. Quite a queue for drinks and not a proper bar so everything was in a bottle or can pre-made. By the time we arrived, all the parking spaces had gone but we found one 10 mins down the road which was free in the evening. If anyone has difficulty walking, either drop them off at venue or plan on arriving quite early. Loved the art deco building
Honestly, It's a really nice thing to have and the fact it's so well used by the community is amazing and the location overlooking the sea is also wonderful. Unfortunately though, I'm not overly impressed with the cafe. While the coffee is great, The seating area looks extremely run down and poorly maintained, kind of feels like you're sitting in a school cafeteria. Adding some plants, putting some pictures up around the area, etc, would give it much more life.
Went to see a comedian, last minute booking. Very pleased with service and staff kind and helpful. The actual theatre let's the building down tremendously. Worn seats and a totally different feel to the rest of the beautiful building. It definately needs a refurb. Like an old village hall to be honest but, I must say the seats were very comfortable. Let's hope they get some funding to update that area of the building. Staff, excellent.
First visit to the De La Warr Pavilion to see the Scott Bradlees Post Modern Jukebox in concert. Great intimate venue, excellent concert, will gladly return for future events
