Visit Deanston distillery and experience the sights, aromas and sounds of a true working scotch whisky distillery. Located 8 miles from Stirling, near Doune, just 45 minutes from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Our distillery sits by the River Teith at the entrance to the dramatic Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. During your visit we will highlight how we produce our classic Perthshire single malt whisky which is sweet, fruity with a malty honeyed spiciness on the palate. A warm welcome awaits, whether you are visiting to sample the delights of our whisky, taking a production tour, experience our intimate Warehouse 4 cask tasting or enjoy our distillery cafe. We look forward to seeing you at Deanston distillery. Deanston Distillery Team
My wife and I visited the distillery for the "Old and Rare" tasting. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. The whisky was old, rare, and wonderful, and the information provided during the tasting was interesting and informative. I couldn't recommend it more. As an aside, those passing through Doune and Deanston may find a lack of restaurants. The distillery has a great little cafe and bar you can visit even if you're not taking a tour of the distillery.
We didn't have time for the tour today but had lunch at the really nice cafeteria and my friend purchased so.e items from the gift shop. A former cotton mill, the site was converted to a distillery in 1966. It now has a world wide reputation for producing quality malt whiskey of many varieties. Situated adjacent to the River Teith. The distillery is a picturesque place, well worth a visit.
We had an incredible warehouse tour here and definitely think it is worth a visit! Luckily there were only four of us on the tasting so we were able to chat pretty freely. The samples we pulled from the barrel were all available in the shop so you could take home any of them that you enjoyed. I also appreciated the smaller bottles that the shop had as I was travelling and couldn't get the larger stuff through security so that's a big plus for me. Special recognition to Lauryn for being such a great guide!
A visit to this Distillery is a must for Whiskyfans. Wonderful Whisky and an entertaining Tour with a very informative, friendly and funny guide (Thomas). An utmost satisfying experience. And the Deanston Whiskys are truly delicious.
For those on the lookout for an exceptional whiskey distillery tour, I wholeheartedly recommend this destination. Its proximity makes it a convenient choice for a brief yet memorable visit. Our guide, Thomas, was exceptionally knowledgeable and engaging, adding greatly to our experience. His expertise in the field of whiskey was evident and enhanced the tour significantly. I'm not one to write reviews on a whim, but I felt compelled to share my genuine enthusiasm and satisfaction with this whiskey tour. It's a must-visit for anyone nearby and interested in a quality experience.
We did a cask tasting; our guide Brian was great, both friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone there is willing to answer any questions about their processes and whiskies. If you've already done other whisky tours, and you are looking for a different kind of "tour," I highly recommend the cask tasting!
