A very small but very informative exhibition providing interesting and interpretative material on the largest British mammal. This museum shows how Red Deer and Roe Deer are managed in the Highlands. The Torridon Estate is managed by The National Trust for Scotland. The Ranger team are responsible for the upkeep of the estate and would be happy to chat with you and answer any questions. NOT ACCESSIBLE BY CAR - please park at the Countryside Centre and walk down the track to find the Deer Park and Deer Museum. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE DEER PARK. - When a Ranger is present, you can feed the herd specialist pellets by hand from the outside of the fence.
Pretty basic, does the job informing people of the issues blighting deer. A little macabre, Eb Gein would love it. Educational :) Do recommend it, the deer are also very sweet.
It is one small dark and damp room full of deer related things which is kinda cool, but You need to walk 600 meters to it once you have parked your car. You CANNOT feed the deer. You WILL see Deer, but best to bring your binoculars to get a better view of them. If I was driving here to feed and see deer alone, I would be VERY disappointed. All of that said, I'm glad they are at least doing something to help the deer in the area.
Can see the deer, nice place
Didn't see any deer in the enclosure. Have they been moved? 30th May 2024 early evening.
Such cute deers! Even saw some stags. Although, they didn't come over . You can feed the deers too. I didn't have to wait to get in. It was quite rainy when I went there, so I don't know if it is usually quite busy. There is also lots of interesting information about deers inside the little building, too, such as: deer antlers, deer bones, deer jaws, deer teeth, and more! If you love animals or deers, I would definitely recommend!
Lovely to see the deer, especially if you've not managed to spot any just wandering around already. They are in a large field, with a path around the edge but still allowing them lots of privacy and space. We saw a lovely stag as well as some babies which were very cute. Also saw lots of rabbits hopping around. We didn't visit the museum itself on this occasion as we went late, but you're still able to walk around the deer park itself and park at the end of the path which is just a short walk from the deer. A very picturesque place.
