This forest is a beautiful and tranquil oasis, covering an area of 134 hectares. It features a mix of coniferous and broadleaf trees, including oak, beech, and pine, which provide a stunning backdrop for walking and cycling. The forest floor is carpeted with bluebells in the spring, adding to the area's natural beauty. A variety of wildlife can be spotted, including deer, squirrels, and birds. The forest offers several walking trails, including the 1.5-mile Deerpark Trail, which takes visitors through some of the most scenic parts of the forest. There are also picnic areas, a playground, and a cafe, making it an ideal destination for families and nature lovers alike.
A soggy but beautiful walk. Could do with signs and doggy pooh bins. But all in all such a beautiful place to visit.
Lush forest with good tracks for winter walking. Lots of dogs for the dogs to play with too. Camped here over night in the camper (running on 100% used veg oil of course). Hope the locals don't mind. Gets busy with dog walkers.
Love this place! - Beautiful for walking the dog while the sunrises. - Gradual downhill zig zag decline, but of course what goes down gotta come back up. - Stoney gravel surface under foot although probably could get Ivey in winter. - Some nice little mini waterfall type streams. - No bins around, I always find this very weird... everybody wants dog owners to clean up after the dog yet just like many others like this in the area they do not provide bins? - Free, unrestricted car park without any height/width/gate barriers. That being said, the road leading from main road to the entrance is a narrow single lane but not for very long. - Parking is kind of 'where ever you can stick it' though rather than actual parking bays. It's slightly sloping downhill but nothing too steep.
Beautiful and peaceful with so many different birds
A beautiful place to take your dogs or family for a walk. Very peaceful, wear suitable footwear though. You can see a lot of wild life there.
A lovely forest, a few routes to take, some hills but nothing major. At a push you can make the walk last two hours and there's free parking. On wet days make sure you have boots on.
