This picturesque picnic area is nestled beside the tranquil River Nidd and surrounded by lush greenery, offering a serene atmosphere for relaxation and recreation.
Nice place to walk with the dog along the river. Some parts of the river have quite steep sides so caution is needed if you have a small dog or young children. If you go up the steps from the carpark you'll find a large field where the locals exercise their pooches. Everyone seems to 'pickup' after their dogs which is good to see. The car park which used to be free now is not unless you are parking for no more than 30 minutes, otherwise charges apply.
Loves this walk did this walk on 3rd of May am on rasing money for dementia uk 31 miles in May a Mile a day and this walk was fantastic done many times
A small, but free car park, on the edge of Wolsingham is a very short walk from the clean and tidy picnic area. There are well marked walks of different lengths through fields or along the riverbank, or even up to and round the reservoir. A beautiful, unspoilt area.
Parked here for a walk, car park quite busy, but got a space. Free parking, long stay. Pretty village and we had a lovely 10 mile walk in the surrounding area.
Free parking with loads of spaces. We parked here to do a walk up and around Tunstall Reservoir and back. It was a great walk but lots of the public footpaths crossed fields with cattle in. Just a heads up as a lot of people are a bit wary. I find if you give the cattle a wide berth it's not an issue. The walk was very muddy in places, not surprising considering all the rain we've had.
I love it here, has an amazing wild swimming spot just along the river, meadows, rope swings, fairy doors and trails for kids, stepping stones and woods. One of Wolsingham's finest gems. The walk branches into lots of other walks as well along the way.
