This 25-acre botanical garden features a stunning collection of yucca species, showcasing over 400 varieties of these iconic desert plants. The sanctuary also boasts a tranquil atmosphere, with meandering paths, water features, and scenic vistas, providing a peaceful retreat for visitors.
I visited here with friends from Botswana and this had been the main reason for their trip, a gruelling 172 hour non-stop drive from their home town. After a disappointing morning at the owl sanctuary we'd hoped for a thrilling afternoon visiting Devon's premier yucca collection. we arrived to find bark chipping.
On my penultimate visit here there was a truly magnficent specimin, but on my most recent visit it had gone. Maybe it had been rehomed back to Mexico or lost in the recent improvement works (very smart btw). I hope on my next visit to see more Yuccas!!!
