Dimminsdale is a picturesque village in Staffordshire, England, nestled in the heart of the National Forest. The village is surrounded by rolling hills, woodlands, and farmland, offering scenic views and a tranquil atmosphere. Visitors can explore the village's charming lanes, visit the 13th-century St. Mary's Church, and enjoy the local countryside through walking and cycling trails.
Enjoyed my walk from Dimminsdale and Spring Wood carpark.
Small circular walk around some pools and streams, which unfortunately couldn't be seen much as everything was abit over grown. Half the paths were abit over grown with many nettles so be careful wearing shorts. We were there around 11am and didn't see anyone else walking around so it was very peaceful
Excellent place to have a relaxing walk the Woodlands are carpeted with bluebells at the right time of year and it's handy to call into the garden centre midway round the walk for a nice cup of tea a spot of lunch et cetera well worth a visit
An interesting and peaceful Nature Reserve cared by Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust. In the 13th century, the area was a limestone quarry for building stones. In summer some of the paths can be overgrown with nettles, so be careful wearing shorts... I had a very relaxing walk though, didn't meet many other visitors. So if you're a loner like me, you would probably enjoy it too
Lovely little nature reserve, car park up the road at Staunton Harold reservoir requires a little walk along the road. No facilities at all here but worth a visit for the snowdrops in winter, wild garlic in spring. Can get quite muddy.
Beautiful grown-in former Lime workings. Nice path around filled in lake - plenty of elevation changes for interest with boardwalks in places. Beautiful spot.
