Dinas Powys woods, a tranquil oasis nestled in the heart of South Wales, boasts an enchanting tapestry of ancient woodland, rolling hills, and sparkling streams. The woods' rich history dates back to the Bronze Age, with remnants of ancient settlements and mysterious monuments waiting to be uncovered. As visitors meander along the winding trails, they are surrounded by a kaleidoscope of colors, from the emerald green of the trees to the vibrant hues of wildflowers that carpet the forest floor. The air is alive with the sweet songs of birds and the gentle rustle of leaves, creating a sense of serenity that envelops all who enter this natural haven.
We had a great time exploring the woods. Need atleast 4 - 5 hours to complete the loop. It's quite dense with lots of steep paths and easy to get lost. We also saw Alpacas in the nearby farm. The map near the entrance to the woods was helpful and Google maps does not show the trial paths inside the forest.
