Dock Park - the riverside park in Dumfries has a rich and varied history. The new play equipment installed recently is more suitable for all ages and abilities with bright and appealing colours; all of which surrounds the historic maze, which has been in place since the 1970's. A Peter Pan themed mini golf area has been designed by a local artist. The park's centre-piece is the nineteenth century bandstand which has been restored to its former glory with the addition of new lighting and electrical points so that modern equipment can be used for events and activities. The old bowling pavilion has been refurbished to be used for the park's toilet facilities and as the new information hub.
This has a lovely play area with free parking. A very nice cafe and clean public toilets not too far away in the bowling green building. It had swings, a maze, slides, a roundabout and a zip line which was working. By the bowling green there were trampolines which were PS1.50/15 minutes play. There was also mini golf.
Beautiful park, clean, lots for kids to do in play area including zip line. Little ones enjoyed the trampolines at PS1.50 each and older ones the crazy golf (very reasonable too). Very clean and free public toilets by crazy golf.
A beautiful riverside walk area with a cafe, parking and scenic beauties.
Great play park for kids. Clean and well kept. Local cafe for refreshments. You can walk along and over the bridge and back towards to town centre too.
The car park is a good size. The play park is really good it's separated into different age sections. It's has a maze. Swings, climbing frame and other play equipment. There a small cafe beside the play park. I did not use it so I'm not sure how much food/drink cost or what they serve. There a few picnic tables dotted about the park. There is crazy golf and putting and small trampolines. There is a charge for them but it's quite reasonable price and the man serving is really happy and friendly. The toilets are located beside the crazy golf. There a large grass area where you can play football,Throw rugby ball, badminton. There seats about the park so you can have a sit down.
Improved loads over the years. A really lovely park now and the hut for ice cream and coffee's is open, perfect. Lots of children playing, people meeting up, it was very nice to see it being used so well.
